Day 2 of our Experimental Weekend at Sierra Point
We’re going to turn the course around and run a 2nd day. East Coasters have run consecutive days of racing at their events for years – we’re going to see if Northern California racers have enough in the tank for 2 straight days of Sierra Point. “Oh, is THIS what it looks like in daylight?” Similar fields with some changes but almost everybody will get that chance at Redemption. Got a flat yesterday? Push the Re-start button on Sunday. Hit the Red Zone too long and bonked? Push the Re-start button on Sunday. Couldn’t get away for Saturday race? Here’s your weekend chance.

Category Description
Cyclocross racers in Northern California have selected their own race categories for decades before USA Cycling discovered the phenomena a few years ago. We still encourage riders to discover for themselves their best fit for competition. Is your first choice too slow? too fast? Too young? Too old? Go ahead and change whenever you want. For those of you looking for more direction, our corresponding categories with USAC are:
Beginner – Cat. “C” – USAC Cat. 4
Intermediate – Cat. “B” – USAC Cat. 3
Advanced – Cat “A” – USAC Cat. 1/2
